"I am drawn to the varied architecture that abounds in Denver. It's exciting. It has inspired me to paint scenes depicting recognizable buildings that also maintain an air of mystery. I enjoy the uncertainty that arises during this creative process." |

These paintings are about the time and the effort taken to understand the subjects contained within the canvases. Each is a story of everyday people and places. How we interpret the meaning from the images provided is another thing. Figures, however simply they may be represented, all carry a story in some way. Landscapes are straight forward, brief educational lessons of the natural world. |

"Being spiritual and an artist, the view of the natural surroundings, awesome sunrises and sunsets are very inspiring to me and is the source from all that I wonder. Live art is one of the newest contemporary performance art forms. While a band plays in front of an audience, Eric captures the moment in a painting. Most of his pieces are acrylic on canvas which lends itself well to the quick pace at which he works. "I'm not just limited to live art. Live art loosens me up for the more refined artwork that I paint at my studio. My painting is an addiction and one style fuels the other." Since October 2002, Eric has completed over 250 paintings in sizes ranging from 4" x 14" to 6' x 9'. |

"I'm inspired by Native American traditions that revere the medicine wheel as the eternal dance. The medicine wheel is balance, wholeness, and the subtle spin of constant change. Unlike modern linear conceptions of time that delineate specific points in time, the circularity of my medicine wheel paintings is an exploration, not a definition. Explorers don't know what they will find: that's the fun. My painting explorations are not representations of any grail or goal. If anything, they exist as inspiration for you to explore your own inner space, not to find something, but simply to enjoy the travels." |

"I paint on the fringes of representational reality and abstraction; constructing scenes, forms and settings that find moments of familiarity and then push further into worlds of non-representational color. My paintings emerge from a place of nonverbal reality, and I take pleasure in seeing the unexpected take shape in my work. Undertaking a painting is an all-consuming process of delving into the unknown and then consciously aggregating or splintering color in a way that is compositionally exciting." |

Joseph Smith |

 |
As a resident of Colorado, Joseph's paintings are a contemplation of the horizon through color and texture. His goal is to infuse his paintings with some of the awe felt while gazing at the mountainous horizons of the area. His artwork is an accentuated exploration of the foothills where plains and mountains meet. Through abstraction, both the contrast and interaction between these two forms of terrain is explored. |

"It's not what I get out of the artwork, instead, it is what I add to the artwork. I throw the basics into each art piece - paint, canvas, time, politics, religion, reality and consciousness all on a tangible plane. What the viewer gets is a vision of my personal perception." |
